About the strategy
The Equalities and diversity strategy was written following
consultation with people who use social care
services and our staff, to ensure it fully represents the needs and
interests of the people it serves.
The strategy details how we will develop
recruitment and retention
processes, and provide training to our staff so
that they can incorporate diversity into everything they do.
We will also continue to develop our capacity to publish
information in accessible formats, make links with people who use
services and use our information to influence policy and practice
both nationally and locally.
Monitoring equalities and diversity
We have a specific duty under the Race Relations Act to monitor
details about our staff with regards to their ethnicity.
This information is published in our Equalities and diversity
monitoring report :
Covering ethnicity, gender, age and disability, the report
provides a breakdown of the our workforce by directorate,
region/location and grade.
The report says how many staff:
- are employed by us
- apply for employment, training and promotion
- receive training
- benefit or suffer detriment as a result of our performance
assessment procedures
- are involved in grievance procedures
- are the subject of disciplinary procedures
- leave our employment.
