The vision for adult social care
Our contribution
Following the decision of the minister, Dr Stephen Ladyman MP,
to extend the period of consultation on a new vision for adult
social care, CSCI has been co-ordinating a contribution.
We have submitted a paper to the minister which draws upon CSCI
evidence and that of our predecessor bodies. Informal feedback from
officials has been that this has been a helpful contribution to
shaping the content of the green paper which is expected in the
next parliamentary session.
In his response to the initial phase of consultation, the
minister said that he had not heard enough from people who use
services. CSCI provided some additional material from recent
service inspections and other studies alongside other evidence.
