We have achieved our objectives for the second year running,
says our annual report for 2005-06 published today.

Our objectives for 2005-06 included:
- changing the way we inspect to focus more attention on poor
quality care homes and services
- focussing more on the things that make a real difference to the
lives of people who use services
- carrying out our inspection programme for care homes, care
services and councils.
Dame Denise Platt, our Chair, said: "The last 12 months have
been marked by progress, change, achievement and challenge.
"Once again we have shown we are up to the challenge and have
improved on last year’s performance, while working with our
partners to plan for the transition to new regulatory bodies.
"It demonstrates how CSCI as an organisation is changing and how
we are encouraging councils and the care sector to make essential
improvements for people who use and rely on social care
services."
