National and regional quality boards

National quality board

CSCI has set up the national quality board to involve people who use services as well as people who commission and provide services so that they can make sure we produce high quality work.

In particular, the board will give an external view to ensure that:

  • quality ratings are fair, accurate and based on sound evidence
  • guidance, policies and procedures are consistently applied
  • practice is consistent and of a high standard
  • people who use regulated services enjoy positive outcomes

The board will also have a role in monitoring the work of the quality rating review service.

Regional quality boards

We have also established regional quality boards in each of our regions:

  • Eastern London
  • North Eastern
  • North West
  • South East
  • South West
  • West Midlands

The regional boards carry out similar work to that of the national board, as well as focussing on:

  • quality of inspection reports
  • quality rating system as it is applied locally

The regional quality boards are independent of the national quality board. However, they will provide reports so the national board can gain a country-wide perspective of the quality of our work.
